Sandworld - Weymouth Sand Sculpture Festival
Sandworld in Weymouth is a must during your holiday. It is an art gallery with a big difference. As you can probably tell by the name it is a sand sculpture gallery.
The 2015 theme was the Best of British. It featured British icons that master craftsman have created out of sand. There are a lot of different scenes that have been created this year and there is an icon from every era so it is fun for the whole family.
Some of the world's finest sand sculptors were invited to attend the festival this year. They have delivered some of their very best work to meet the occasion.
Throughout the event there is plenty going on to entertain you even further. There are master sculptors doing what they do best so you can see the process first hand. You can witness all of the hard work that goes into sculpting sand.
You can also have a go yourself if you would like. The Have a Go area is great for kids and any one with an imagination.
For those that would like to sit back, relax and watch the artists create, there is an indoor café and outdoor benches to sit and watch from. There is also a gift shop where you can buy all of the sandy gifts you can think of.
The Sandworld Sand Sculpture Festival is perfect for a fun filled family afternoon. Do make sure that you take loads of photos so you can share the meeting of your sandy heroes with all your friends!
