Armed Forces Day Celebrations 18th to 24th Of June
Saturday 18th of June
Convoy of historic military vehicles will start arriving at Weymouth pavilion at around 10am and there will be a procession along Weymouth sea front from 1pm
At 12 noon the Royal Engineers will start the afternoon off with a bang with a beach invasion and a bridge building exercise. From 12 noon til 4 pm at The Osprey Leisure Centre in Portland historical military convoy who will park at the leisure centre. Around 2.30 pm the Decadettes will sing songs from the war time years.
Sunday 19th of June
At 11.00 an open air service will take place by the Cenotaph. Followed by a parade led by the band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines and around 2,000 veterans representing over 160 veterans associations from all over the world. After the short service of Remembrance there will be a parade along Weymouth sea front, followed by a military convoy and The Royal British Legion Riders Branch. Riding an assortment of old motor cycles to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
