Weymouth central beach has won the prestigious blue flag award
It is the first time in over 15 years that Weymouth Central has won a Blue Flag award. The beach, owned and managed by the borough council, has also been awarded a Seaside Award for 2016 from Keep Britain Tidy.
The number of Blue Flags awarded to English beaches has increased by seven this year and a total of 143 beaches in England will be flying either the Blue Flag or Seaside Award, telling residents and visitors that they are the best in the country.
