The Carnival will take place on the traditional 'Third Wednesday in August', which this year is the 19th August 2015.
The Weymouth Carnival and Events Club are very excited to be welcoming both The Red Arrows and The Battle of Britain to the skies of Weymouth & Portland on the big day; what a privilege!
But the excitement doesn't stop there; the Club are concentrating heavily on the ground level fun, which promises to be a exhilarating line-up of events and attractions.
The day will start with this year's Carnival Queen being crowned, followed by a whole day packed with family orientated fun which includes stalls, fairground rides, games, performances, music, food and much, much more. The evening will see what we hope will be Weymouth's best ever procession and we hope many of you are already putting ideas together for your floats and practicing your marching and music!
The evening will be topped off with fireworks from Weymouth Bay at 21.30 hours followed by the announcement of the winner of our grand draw when a very lucky person will win a fabulous brand new car!
As well as being the thrilling and action packed day we've all known the Carnival to be over the last 55 years, it has also raised thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes, but of course, this is only through the great support of the public.
Procession - Entry is FREE and open until Carnival Day
This year's procession will commence from the ferry terminal car park and finish at Lodmoor county park with traffic moving up through the college car park and dispersing out onto Cranford avenue and then onto Dorchester road.
Both walking entries and floats can enter this years procession. Entries will remain open until Carnival Day (Wednesday 19th August).
The procession will start from the Pavilion car park at 6.30pm. All entrants (walking & floats) must complete an entry form on www.weymouthcarnival.co.uk
