Nothe Fort And Gardens
Nothe Fort is located at the entrance to Weymouth Harbour. The fort used to protect the harbour but now it is an amazing place to go and get some incredible views of the Jurassic Coast. There is a labyrinth of underground passageways to explore as well as some beautiful gardens and outside areas to sit and relax in.
The fort is constructed on three levels. There is a main lift so all are easily accessible. The fort is a great day out for the whole family. There are a lot of displays for the history buffs in the family. Attractions include mammoth guns for the kids to admire and cinema areas that chart the history of the amazing Victorian structure.
The underground passageways are open to the public and are a lot of fun to explore. The fort has some beautiful views of the surrounding area from the top of the towers.

The Victorian fort has had such an interesting past. In 1968 it stood derelict until the Weymouth Civic Society decided to turn it into the major historic tourist attraction that is today. The fort has a lot to offer anyone.
Be aware though, the fort is haunted and there is a very interesting story as to why it is!
